			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You know it’s funny how life just seems to take over, the diet becomes secondary to everything else. These days are the best when food is about fuel and life is about living. There are no urges to munch on all the bad stuff in the fridge. You just seem to float.</p>
<p>This week has been filled with those days. I have eaten well, perfectly actually, I haven’t craved junk or felt dishearten.</p>
<p>I’ve just lived.</p>
<p>I must be honest, I haven’t been to gym yet this week but this isn’t due to any fault of my own.  Life just got in the way. But you know what it’s ok. 3 days of gym isn’t going to make a huge difference I’m just going to go the rest of the week and the weekend. But you know what I love going to gym on Saturdays, the gym is always so quiet and I can take my time.</p>
<p>As to my weight, I really don’t know if I’m up or down. I’ve got a feeling I’m down, but I’m not sure if I’m down as much as I would like. Hmmmm&#8230; I have decided to wait till Friday to weigh myself. Because Friday&#8230; I’m going to see Steve!!! Now going to see Steve means it’s time for me to show my results. He will adapt my diet accordingly and measure my body fat %. He can then also work out if I’ve gained muscle and lost fat or lost fat or lost fat and muscle.</p>
<p>I really am hoping to be 4kgs down (in fat) from when I last saw him (4 weeks ago) .  I won’t really know until I go see him because my lean muscle mass could be up which means the number on the scale is wrong.</p>
<p>Another thing is, I feel I need to speak to him about is setting some proper goals for me.  I need to get some advice on my target weight and my target body bat percentage. I am thinking that when I get to my target weight I should get some personal training sessions to help me tone up and get ready for summer (:</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Life in Africa is tough; it’s hard to make enough money to support youself. I work as a receptionist so money is tight at times. It is unfortunately one of those times. Its 3 days till pay day. I need to survive today, Tuesday, Wednesday and most properly half of Thursday.</p>
<p>Now the problem comes in that with my diet I need to eat certain foods, I need to have yogurt and eggs and veggies.  I really don’t feel comfortable eating anything off my diet. My diet is 1250 cals at the moment and I am no stranger to calorie counting, so I could instead of having my healthy lunch I could have 2 minute noodles or a small packet of chips (crisps).</p>
<p>But the thing that most people don’t realise is calorie counting is only half of what dieting is really about. Nutrition is the far more important other half. You need to eat a diet contain protein, loads of veggies, yogurt and a small portion of carbs.</p>
<p>Now I’ve notice a lot of people try and go vegetarian to lose weight, this is ok but you need to keep your protein intake up, you really can’t expect to lose weight and build healthy muscle if you don’t have enough protein. Protein powders are an excellent option to all you. For me I use Whey Protein.  It’s incredibly yum as an added bonus.</p>
<p>Now back to the noodles, I can’t afford to go and get my normal foods, so what do I do? It’s a question I’m sure a lot of people suffer with. If I can’t afford to eat healthy today should I rather not eat?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So the problem with being on diet is you tend to go through phases where you hate being on diet. You want to give up. You want to go and pig out on junk food.</p>
<p>You basically want to say f**k it, LETS EAT!!</p>
<p>Here are some ways that I have found to overcome this feeling.</p>
<ol>
<li>I am in fact feeling this way right now – so number one will be to write about how you feeling, that way you realise that giving up is not an option.</li>
<li>Drink a huge glass of water – I really hate this one, but my boyfriend always says that by drinking a glass of water you will feel a little fuller and will satisfy the craving a little</li>
<li> Eat a big salad – foods such as lettuce tomatoes and cucumber are super low in calories so have a nice salad with a soy sauce dressing. It’s crunchy and fresh and likely to make you feel better after eating it.</li>
<li>Remember the past – if you have lost weight already, do this by looking at old photos or remember those times when you hated yourself. If you only just started and already feel like giving up, look at yourself in the mirror, take a moment and remember it. SAY: ‘THIS IS THE LAST TIME ILL FEEL THIS WAY ABOUT MYSELF. That will be enough motivation.</li>
<li>Phone a friend – this is a good one, whenever I feel like eating something bad I tell someone in my life that I feel like giving up. They will talk you out of it.</li>
<li>Make a plan for the future – you can’t be perfect all the time so make a day once in a while when you get to eat that food. Just remember that too many cheat days won’t make you lose weight.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The most amazing thing has started happening. I’ve started to feel pretty again. It started a few weeks ago when I noticed that I have cheek bones again. YES it’s amazing.  I have a nice shape to my face; my eyes look big and round. I truly feel good to be myself again.</p>
<p>It really is sad how your weight really does determine how you feel about yourself ( well at least for me it does ) when you have put on weight let’s be honest everyone notices, even if they say that you look amazing, chances are if you have put on more than 10 kgs they are lying.</p>
<p>For me as the weight went on I started to feel more shit about myself, I didn’t wear makeup or make an effort with my appearance. This in fact made it worst.  I was moody and ugly inside and out.</p>
<p>But it’s changed; slowly I have gotten back to my old self.  Today I’m wearing high heels to work, I’m wearing makeup. I’m wearing a dress that didn’t fit me 3 months ago. I’m truly proud of myself and I hope the people around me see the changes and love the Dom that has immerged.</p>

<p>this photo is just a representation, in fact the ones at work looked better than this. i managed to say no. that saying know was pretty easy as it was around lunch time and i had a Delicious mince and butternut dish to eat instead of a over sweet snack that i would regret later.</p>
<p>The second was the most beautiful cupcake. this cupcake was specifically given to me so i had to accept it. Damn it. well i took the cupcake and i put it aside on my desk.</p>
<p>it really did look amazing, but i didnt eat it. it was hard but i gave it to someone else in the office who could use a few extra calories. but take a look at how yum it looks :</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well today is Valentine’s Day, as we all know this day is about love, treats and spending time with the special people in our lives. I am very lucky to have an amazing boyfriend who treats me like a princess.  But thing is we don’t do the cheesy side to Valentine’s Day. We don’t buy presents and we don’t do chocolates. For us this day is about so much more. We take it as an opportunity to treat ourselves to a nice evening together. We decided this year to do it on Sunday; I mean who really wants to go out on a Tuesday night anyway. This Sunday we went for sushi. Oh gosh yes I ate sushi until I couldn’t move. It was truly a sinful day, but hey it’s a special occasion.</p>

<p>You know what I really don’t regret all the food and alcohol I consumed it was all worth it .  Life is too short to be perfect all the time. Life is about living and enjoying those special days with the people that we love.  You only live once so you have to make it count in the end.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>so body fat percentage is a complicated topic of discussion. In fact i could ramble on and on about it as its something i have noticed is more important than weight.</p>
<p>To calculate you body fat isn&#8217;t the easiest thing to do. there are a variety of methods with positive and negative sides. it is difficult to get an accurate ready for most of the easy options.</p>
<p>So here we do :</p>
<h2>1) Skin Fold Caliper ( My method )</h2>
<p>This method measures your body fat percentage by pinching your fat a body fat caliper. its like a big plastic tweezers. it isn&#8217;t an easy method to do but i find it to be the most accurate.  i must be honest that i get my nutritionist  to do this for me. so its easy for me, but for those of you who don&#8217;t have a professional helping you on this journey it isn&#8217;t the easy. the best thing to do is to speak to a personal trainer at your gym and see if they will be willing to help you.</p>
<p>.2) Bio-electric Impedance Analysis (BIA) &#8211; the scale</p>
<p>This is  a special scale that has BIA . BIA scales basically send a  flow of an electric current through the body. and by doing this it can measure your body fat % . I find this is the easiest way to measure your body fat. the problem with it how every is it doesn&#8217;t take into account your state of hydration, so this can impact the level of accuracy.</p>
<p>3) Anthropometric</p>
<p>This method uses body circumference measurements to estimate body fat percentages.  it is an easy inexpensive way to measure your body fat,  but on the downside it doesn&#8217;t directly measure you body fat so accuracy is a problem.</p>
<p>So what should your body fat be :</p>

<p>My body fat according to my last measurement 2 weeks a go is : 18.9 % , this is actually really good. i only have another 5 Kgs to loose so this should put me at 14% body fat.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The thing that I have realized in the last few weeks, is life is so much more that worrying continually about you weight.  It’s about living; it’s about having fun and making the most out of what you have been given.</p>
<p>It’s funny to think back on how I used obsess over every little thing I ate. How I would hide away at home to scared to go anywhere because I was going to have to deal with temptation. That really is no way to live.</p>
<p>Life is more important.</p>
<p>You know my diet isn’t the easiest diet out there. So I might be a tat off base on say all this.  But I truly have begun to see that obsession is not the way to go. It’s not what life is all about.  Rather taking your time with things and treat yourself regularly!</p>
<p>For instance David and I are having SUSHI SUNDAY next weekend! My gosh im sooo excited.  There is nothing like sushi and a few cocktails to sooth the soul.  My absolute favourite is hand rolls and fashion sandwiches.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So I must be honest, it has been almost a month since my last confession. This in itself is terrible. I was being so good writing everyday and building up a real history of this whole experience. This journey that I am on was meant to be something that I could look back on and be proud that I have some so far both emotionally and physically.</p>
<p>You see life happened as it does and inspiration to write disappeared. But I must say my inspiration for my diet has not faded in the least.</p>
<p>I am only 5 kgs from my target weight.  I know that’s pretty amazing!!! But I truly believe that getting there isn’t going to be my hardest part. The hardest part will be learning to maintain my weight and not go backwards. That is the hardest part.</p>
<p>What I’ve come to realise is that I seem to pick up muscle fairly easily on my last assessment I was 1.2 kg up in muscle! Pretty freaking cool and that is in only 6 weeks.</p>
<p>Wish my luck and I promise to start writing again. xo xo xo</p>
<p>As for the 36 dresses story&#8230; Hmmm over it</p>
